Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey getting Labo VR support

Nintendo will add Labo VR support to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey in late April.

In Breath of The Wild, players will be able to enable VR mode from the main menu at any point in the game. Nintendo says there’s no need to create a new save file to use the feature.

Players will also be able to use Labo’s VR Goggles for a limited set of Mario Odyssey experiences. Three mini-missions set in the Cap, Seaside and Luncheon Kingdoms will task players with collecting musical notes and coins to complete objectives.

The VR features will be available through game updates scheduled for release on April 25 in North America and April 26 in Europe.

Revealed in March, the Nintendo Labo VR Kit is the fourth entry in the family-friendly build and play series. It features six cardboard sets designed to be used with accompanying software.

These include the Toy-Con VR Goggles, which sit in front of the Nintendo Switch hardware itself, plus the Blaster, Camera, Bird, Wind Pedal and Elephant Toy-Con projects.

Nintendo recently announced a Nintendo Labo VR Kit release date of April 12. The full Labo VR Kit will cost $79.99 (£69.99), while a starter set featuring the Goggles and Blaster will cost $39.99 (£34.99). Two expansion sets will include the remaining Toy-Cons for $19.99 (£16.99) each.
